At the core of the role
In Buenos Aires (CABA) within the Banking & Financial Services industry, we are actively seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer (COBOL) to strengthen our banking technology team. Your primary responsibility will involve developing, maintaining, and enhancing mission-critical mainframe applications supporting core banking products and payment ecosystems. You will contribute to high-impact initiatives across accounts, deposits, cards, and payment services, ensuring reliable and scalable solutions that support business operations and customer transactions.

This position is hybrid and requires on-site work 3 times a week in CABA.

Core skills you’ll bring

• Proven experience as a Senior Mainframe Developer within the banking or financial services industry.

• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL development in both Batch and Online environments.

• Solid knowledge of DB2, CICS, JCL, and IBM Mainframe technologies.

• Experience working with TSO/ISPF and SQL.

• Strong understanding of core banking systems and transaction processing.

• Functional knowledge of accounts, savings accounts, checking accounts, and time deposit products.

• Experience supporting payment services and banking transaction platforms.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with card processing systems and payment ecosystems.

• Knowledge of merchant payments, acquiring, and processor integrations.

• Experience with credit card and debit card platforms.

• Understanding of chargeback and merchant settlement processes.

• Previous experience working in large-scale banking transformation initiatives.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL-based applications supporting core banking operations.

• Design and implement solutions for accounts, savings, checking accounts, and time deposit products.

• Support the development and maintenance of payment services and transaction processing systems.

• Contribute to card-related platforms, including credit and debit card solutions.

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into reliable mainframe solutions.

• Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to support banking modernization initiatives.

• Perform application maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and performance optimization.

• Ensure the stability, integrity, and availability of critical banking applications.
