Job description

Are you ready to make a positive impact on clients, colleagues, and the global community? Do you value commitment, curiosity, continuous growth, compassion, community, and collaboration?

Brighton Jones is growing, and we’re looking for a great Advisor to lead our San Francisco and bay area growth and expand our presence. This is a unique opportunity for an advisor who is energized by developing new client relationships, is a builder, and has a passion for delivering exceptional wealth management advice.

You’ll play a key leadership role in growing Brighton Jones through building relationships, developing a strong network of prospective clients and centers of influence, and converting those relationships into long-term Brighton Jones clients. You’ll partner closely with our local San Francisco Managing Director and have the support of a talented team of advisors and service team members, allowing you to focus your time where you can have the greatest impact: building relationships, winning clients, and delivering remarkable experiences.

Brighton Jones has built something unique in the wealth management industry. We’ve scaled nationally through organic growth, consistently growing at 25%+ annually over the last 25 years, while remaining 100% employee-owned. Today, more than 100 Brighton Jones colleagues are owners of the firm.

This is an opportunity to combine entrepreneurial drive with the resources and capabilities of a national RIA, and the opportunity to become an owner in what you help grow starting day 1.

Take our Values in Action Self-Assessment to see how our values align!

Your Role:

  • Collaborate with the local team to own the growth of Brighton Jones in San Francisco, driving new client acquisition, net new assets, referral activity, market visibility, and long-term market momentum.
  • Develop and execute a market-specific growth strategy that creates sustainable and repeatable sources of organic growth.
  • Proactively develop relationships with prospective clients through referral partners, COI’s, businesses, and your personal and professional network.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified prospective clients and consistently convert opportunities into new Brighton Jones relationships.
  • Lead the prospective client journey from initial discovery and articulation of the Brighton Jones value proposition through proposal, decision, onboarding, and transition into the ongoing client experience.
  • Clearly and authentically communicate the Brighton Jones value proposition and demonstrate why our Personal CFO approach is differentiated in the marketplace.
  • Develop deep, trusted referral relationships with attorneys, CPAs, executives, business owners, banking professionals, community leaders, and other centers of influence who serve Brighton Jones' target clients.
  • Build on the reputation of Brighton Jones as an active and respected presence in your market through networking, public speaking, community involvement, industry events, educational programs, and thought leadership.
  • Partner closely with centralized marketing and business development resources to build local awareness, strengthen market credibility, and accelerate qualified opportunity creation.
  • Leverage Brighton Jones' internal specialists and external resources across investment management, estate planning, tax planning, risk management, and general planning to help clients achieve their objectives.
  • Partner will the San Francisco Managing Director to scale the market over time by strengthening the Brighton Jones brand, expanding the client base, identifying local growth opportunities, and helping recruit and develop future team members as the market grows.

What Will Set You Apart

    • You are a growth-minded relationship builder and business developer at heart who gets energy from meeting people, creating connections, and turning relationships into opportunities.
    • You have a demonstrated ability to originate, win, and onboard new high-net-worth client relationships.
    • You are entrepreneurial and excited by the opportunity to grow a market rather than simply inherit and manage an existing book of business.
    • You have an established network in San Francisco and understand how to develop productive, long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, executives, referral partners, and centers of influence.
    • You combine strong business development instincts with the credibility and technical expertise required to advise sophisticated clients and represent Brighton Jones in the market.

    • You have excellent communication, presentation, networking, and relationship-management skills.
    • You are comfortable being externally visible and becoming one of the local faces of Brighton Jones.

    • You have a four-year degree.
    • Professional designation: CFP®, CPA, CFA, or JD. Candidates who do not hold the CFP® designation but hold the CPA, CFA, or JD must obtain the Series 65 (or equivalent) within 120 days of employment.
