Job description
At Bright, we are powering the digital practice of tomorrow – today. We deliver products that help accountants, payroll bureaus, and businesses across the UK and Ireland work smarter and win more. Our software handles the complexity so our customers can focus on what matters most — serving their clients and growing their practices. We believe understanding is the difference between working and winning.
The Opportunity Bright is expanding its commercial team and this role sits at the centre of that growth. The Business Development Executive is the first point of contact for prospective customers - qualifying opportunities, building relationships, and connecting businesses to Bright's accounting solutions across Ireland and the UK. You will play a key role in our driving company growth and success working within the Accountancy Sales team alongside Account Executives, success here is measured in activity, pipeline quality, and revenue contribution.
Contact and prospect leads with the objective of identifying and developing new business opportunities across Ireland and the UK. Act as the first point of contact for all new prospects — qualifying fit, establishing credibility, and building rapport. Work closely with the Accountancy Sales team to progress and hand off qualified opportunities. Fact-find and gather key data from prospects to support the sales process.
Achieve and exceed activity and revenue targets on a weekly and monthly basis. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the CRM system throughout the sales cycle. Build a solid working knowledge of Bright's software portfolio to handle prospect questions with confidence. Take and process orders accurately and in a timely manner. Essential At least one year of experience in a sales or business development role.
A demonstrable track record of achieving or exceeding targets. Strong communication skills — clear, confident, and professional in both written and verbal form. Excellent telephone manner and comfort presenting via video or online webinar. A self-motivated, target-driven approach with a genuine appetite to develop in sales. Comfortable working alongside AI tools; curious about how technology can make you better at your job.
Desirable A third-level qualification in business, sales, or a related discipline. Experience using a CRM system to manage pipeline and activity records. Familiarity with accounting, payroll, or practice management software.
