We're Hiring Sales Engineer for Gurgaon, India
1. Role Purpose
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for achieving sales targets by developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong customer relationships, and promoting the company's products and solutions within the assigned territory. The role involves identifying customer requirements, providing appropriate technical solutions, preparing techno-commercial quotations, and supporting customers throughout the sales cycle to drive revenue growth and ensure customer satisfaction.
2. Major Accountabilities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and drive revenue growth within the assigned territory.
- Identify, develop, and acquire new customers while strengthening relationships with existing customers and key stakeholders.
- Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations to promote the company's products and solutions.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and convert enquiries into sales orders.
- Coordinate with internal teams, monitor market and competitor activities, maintain accurate sales forecasts, and ensure timely payment collection.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of monthly and annual sales targets and revenue growth.
- Number of new customers acquired and growth in market share.
- Customer retention and satisfaction levels.
- Timely submission of quotations and proposals, and conversion of enquiries into orders.
- Collection of outstanding payments within agreed timelines.
- Accuracy of sales forecasting and reporting, along with the number of customer visits conducted per month.
4. Job-Specific Requirements
- Education: B.Tech. in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 4–6 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in industrial electrical products, automation, or hazardous area equipment.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and Hindi.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, industrial electrical products, and control systems.
- Software Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with CRM software and ERP systems is preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of hazardous area classifications, ATEX/IECEx concepts, flameproof (Ex d), increased safety (Ex e), intrinsic safety (Ex i), and explosion protection products.
5. Job Responsibilities & Job-Specific Competencies
- Generate customer enquiries, prepare technical and commercial quotations, follow up on proposals, and convert enquiries into sales orders.
- Develop new customer accounts and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, consultants, contractors, OEMs, EPC companies, and end users.
- Conduct technical discussions, customer visits, product demonstrations, and provide appropriate technical support.
- Coordinate with Application Engineering, Production, Logistics, and Accounts for order processing, timely deliveries, and resolution of customer issues.
- Monitor market developments and competitor activities, prepare weekly sales plans and monthly sales reports, and maintain accurate customer information using CRM and company reporting systems.
- Demonstrate strong electrical engineering knowledge, understanding of explosion protection techniques, proficiency in MS Office, and familiarity with CRM and ERP systems; represent the company at exhibitions and seminars and travel extensively within the assigned territory.
