POSITION OVERVIEW
SteerBridge is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Corporate Quality Assurance Lead to own software QA across our full portfolio of products and platforms. This role ensures that System Design Documentation and Product Owner priorities and requirements are correctly translated into test coverage and properly implemented in accordance with functional and security compliance standards. The QA Lead builds and maintains the testing frameworks, libraries, tools, run times, and reporting and analytics that make quality accessible and intuitive for engineers across SteerBridge, and brings deep technical expertise in the internals of frameworks such as Pytest, Cypress, Playwright, and TestNG.
Beyond the technical craft, this role is expected to cultivate a culture of customer service and positive, solution-oriented problem solving. The QA Lead will regularly support technical calls and communications across supported systems, representing quality in triage, release readiness, and cross-team discussions with the same care and professionalism SteerBridge brings to its government customers.
Key Responsibilities
-
Own SteerBridge’s software QA strategy across products and platforms, including testing frameworks, libraries, tools, test execution, reporting, and analytics.
-
Partner with technical leads and Product Owners to ensure implementations align with System Design Documentation, product priorities and requirements, and applicable functional and security compliance standards prior to release.
-
Maintain deep technical knowledge of test framework internals and develop extensions, plugins, fixtures, shared libraries, and reusable QA components to expand testing capabilities across teams.
-
Build and maintain testing tools and utilities, including Excel add-ons, data sanitation services, command-line interfaces (CLIs), and other solutions that make testing accessible and efficient for engineers.
-
Prototype new test vectors, approaches, tools, and methodologies while staying current with industry trends and identifying opportunities to improve continuous delivery and QA processes.
-
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge-sharing, and innovation.
-
Support technical calls and cross-functional communications with a collaborative, customer-service-oriented approach to resolving complex issues across supported systems.
Required Qualifications
-
Eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship is required for this position under applicable federal contract requirements.
-
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
-
8+ years of software testing experience, including performance and load testing across multiple products and platforms.
-
Deep familiarity with test framework internals and advanced capabilities in Pytest, Cypress, Playwright, or TestNG, including experience extending frameworks through plugins, fixtures, and similar components.
-
Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Node.js, TypeScript, or Python, with strong Linux system administration and shell scripting skills.
-
Experience validating implementations against System Design Documentation, Product Owner priorities and requirements, and applicable functional and security compliance standards, with strong communication and collaboration skills to represent QA in technical and cross-functional discussions.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
-
Experience developing large-scale performance test rigs.
-
Experience building internal tooling such as Excel add-ons, data sanitation services, or CLIs to support engineering and QA workflows.
-
Familiarity with NIST 800-53 or other federal security compliance frameworks.
-
Experience mentoring engineers and rolling out shared test frameworks across a large engineering organization.
