Medical Billing Specialist – Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
Experienced Candidates Only | Bilingual Spanish Preferred | On-Site
This is NOT an entry-level medical billing position.
Reliant Healthcare Group is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist who can independently manage Revenue Cycle Management responsibilities with minimal supervision. Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with AR follow-up, insurance collections, claim resolution, payment posting, and payer communication. Experience limited to front desk duties, data entry, insurance verification, or basic claim submission will not meet the requirements for this role.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Setting: 100% On-Site
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Independently manage assigned Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) responsibilities
- Work Accounts Receivable balances over 30 days
- Review AR aging reports and actively pursue outstanding reimbursement
- Contact insurance payers to resolve unpaid, denied, rejected, or underpaid claims
- Identify claim issues and complete necessary corrections, appeals, or follow-up
- Post insurance and patient payments
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Obtain and manage insurance authorizations
- Review claims for accuracy prior to submission
- Interpret payer contracts and reimbursement guidelines
- Maintain detailed billing and follow-up documentation
- Communicate independently with payers, patients, and internal departments
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should only apply if they meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on medical billing experience
- Direct experience performing Revenue Cycle Management functions
- Strong experience with AR follow-up and medical collections
- Experience personally contacting insurance companies regarding outstanding claims
- Experience resolving denials, rejections, unpaid claims, and underpayments
- Experience with payment posting and account reconciliation
- Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR and medical billing systems
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare billing workflows
- Ability to independently prioritize and manage a high-volume workload
Preferred Experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Medicaid MCO billing experience
- Multi-location healthcare billing experience
- DRG knowledge
- Experience managing high-volume AR
