Environmental Engineer I

Support engineering, design, permitting, and remediation projects for public and private clients across the U.S. Virgin Islands. You'll collect field samples, oversee drilling and well installation, run construction QA, and prepare the calculations and submittals behind our designs.

Location:

This position is based in St. Croix or St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Candidates interested in relocating to the USVI are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites, including soil, air, surface water, groundwater, and landfill gas.
• Oversee drilling activities, including monitoring and well installation, well development, and sampling.
• Conduct construction quality assurance observations, ensuring compliance with construction documents.
• Complete quality control reviews on reports, design plans, design calculations, data, prior to submission.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Coordinate with CAD drafters for design plans/figures or use AutoCAD for basic design plans/ figures.
• Prepare permit applications and/or regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation.
• Prepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering or similar engineering degree
• 1-4 years of experience working in the environmental field. Experience in environmental consulting is preferred. 
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred
• Valid driver's License with a driving record in good standing required.
  
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship. 

Travel:

• 25% travel
  

Compensation & Benefits:

• $85-$105K: Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills.
