As a Senior Project Engineer I, you will lead high-impact engineering efforts that support critical defense programs, solve complex technical challenges, and deliver capabilities that matter in real-world mission environments.

Job Description
What You’ll Do
- Lead engineering projects and technical work packages supporting mission-critical defense programs.
- Drive complex technical solutions from concept through execution while balancing cost, schedule, quality, and performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, high-performing systems that support operational success.
- Solve challenging engineering problems that directly impact system capability, readiness, and customer outcomes.
- Present technical recommendations, analyses, and project updates to engineering leadership and program stakeholders.
- Support project planning activities including estimating work scope, identifying dependencies, and mitigating technical risks.
- Influence engineering decisions and contribute to the development of innovative processes, tools, and technical solutions.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet safety, regulatory, contractual, and quality standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and evolving defense industry trends to help drive future capability.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in a complex engineering environment.
- Proven ability to lead engineering efforts, technical projects, or work packages with measurable impact.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive execution.
- Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines and functional teams.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for innovation, mission success, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Preferred Experience
- Defense, aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industry experience.
- Familiarity with systems integration, sustainment, modernization, or mission support programs.
- Experience working within DoD or government-contracted environments.
- Prior leadership or mentorship experience.
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
Security Clearance
This role may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance based on program requirements.
