Job description
About the Role
In high-stakes environments where our systems operate, safety and reliability are absolute. As our Senior Safety Engineer, you are central to that mission. You will shape the engineering practices that make our autonomous ground systems safe, dependable, and maintainable throughout their entire lifecycle from the first design sketch to final deployment in the field.
Working closely with our systems, hardware, and software teams, you will identify risks early and build resilience into every layer of our technology. Your work ensures that the security forces who rely on our products can trust them to perform, every time. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on the integrity and performance of next-generation autonomous systems.
What You’ll Build
- Establish and lead the safety and reliability function across our system development programs, setting the standard for how we embed resilience into our products
- Define and maintain traceable safety and reliability requirements that guide our systems from concept through to delivery
- Conduct rigorous safety analyses (like FMEA or FTA) that directly inform and improve system architecture and design
- Lead structured safety reviews that actively shape technical decisions and contribute to a culture of safety-by-design
- Identify potential failure modes and develop robust mitigation strategies to reduce operational risk in complex, safety-critical systems
- Use operational data and performance trends to conduct data-driven analyses, continuously improving system behavior and reliability
- Develop forward-thinking maintenance strategies and operational support concepts that extend the life and readiness of our deployed systems
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective action frameworks that strengthen system integrity over time
What You Bring
- A Master's degree in Safety Engineering, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field
- 4 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in Safety and Reliability engineering
- Solid experience in FMEA or FTA, and risk analysis — applied to real, complex systems
- Proven experience working with safety-critical or mission-critical systems where failure is not an option
- Solid knowledge of some of the relevant Safety standards and how to apply them in practice (e.g.: ISO 12100, ISO 13849, MIL-STD-882E, NATO AEP-4754, IEC 61508, ISO 3691)
- Strong analytical thinking paired with practical problem-solving — you identify the risk and then drive the fix
- A collaborative approach that allows you to work effectively across engineering disciplines and bring alignment to complex technical programs
- The ability to document Safety and Reliability concepts
Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
