Job description

Mythic is building the future of AI computing with breakthrough analog technology that delivers 100x the performance of traditional digital systems at the same power and cost. Delivering silicon on that timeline depends on infrastructure that is fast, secure, and always available, and we are hiring a Director of IT & DevOps to own it end to end. This is a single leadership role spanning corporate IT, our business application portfolio, and the DevOps and compute environments our hardware and software teams depend on, across sites in the US, Europe and India. You will lead a small, senior team and own the full picture: identity and access, endpoints and end-user support, our office and network footprint, our datacenter and engineering compute, build and release infrastructure, and our information security program. You will set strategy, establish the operating cadence, and build a function that scales with a company growing quickly on several fronts at once. You will work directly with Engineering leadership and the executive staff.

What you'll do

  • Lead and grow the IT & DevOps team, covering end-user support, identity and access, business applications, networking, datacenter operations, engineering compute and build infrastructure across all of our sites.

  • Own our corporate application portfolio end to end: administration, integration, access governance, lifecycle and renewals, with a single source of truth for what we run, who owns it and what it costs.

  • Own identity and access as the backbone of the company, including single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, group-based entitlements, and a fully automated joiner, mover and leaver process driven from our HR system of record.

  • Own endpoint and device management across a mixed macOS, Windows and Linux fleet, including imaging standards, encryption, unified endpoint management and asset tracking.

  • Own our information security program and drive it to maturity: policy, access governance, patch and vulnerability management, logging and monitoring, data protection, and readiness for customer, partner and third-party security assessments.

  • Own datacenter and engineering compute: capacity and refresh planning, storage and GPU resources, colocation relationships, and the Linux server estate our design and software teams run on.

  • Partner with Hardware and Software Engineering on the tooling they depend on, including EDA tool infrastructure and licensing, job scheduling, remote desktop performance for distributed teams, source control, CI/CD and build systems.

  • Establish IT as a real operating function: ticket-driven work with published SLAs, sprint-based project delivery, on-call and alerting, documented runbooks, and clear reporting on service levels and cost. Own the IT budget and vendor relationships in partnership with Finance.

What you'll bring

  • 10+ years in IT and/or infrastructure engineering, including 3+ years managing and growing a team. Experience as the senior-most IT leader at a company or site is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ownership of both corporate IT and production or engineering infrastructure. This role will not be handed one or the other.

  • Deep hands-on experience administering an enterprise identity provider and a modern SaaS collaboration stack, including SSO, MFA, automated provisioning and access governance.

  • Experience integrating business systems with identity and automating the employee lifecycle end to end.

  • Track record building IT governance from the ground up: application and asset inventory, license reclamation, vendor and renewal management, and a defensible access approval process.

  • Deep Linux systems background across both major distribution families, with practical experience running a mixed estate and executing operating system lifecycle migrations across a production fleet without stalling engineering work.

  • Hands-on experience with virtualization, shared storage, networking, colocation datacenter operations, infrastructure as code, containers and CI/CD.

  • Experience supporting semiconductor or other compute-intensive engineering environments, including EDA tool flows, license servers, job schedulers and large shared filesystems, strongly preferred.

  • Strong security and compliance track record, including endpoint management, patch and vulnerability management, logging and monitoring, and leading an organization through customer or third-party security assessments.

  • Experience supporting a distributed international organization, including EMEA and India, with an understanding of GDPR and cross-border data handling.

  • Excellent judgment and communication: able to work with executives on risk and cost, with engineers on technical detail, and to say no clearly when that is the right answer.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
